Pet Outreach

Launched in October 2021, Pet Outreach is offered to tenants and residents of Atira buildings located in the Downtown Eastside, including supportive housing, transitional programs, and shelters operated by Atira Property Management, Atira Women’s Resource Society and Atira Development Society.

Working in partnership with BC SPCA, Community Vet Outreach and Vancouver Humane Society, we provide:

• Donated food, litter, toys, equipment and more
• Basic wound care to prevent infections
• Behavioural plans and training for staff and tenants
• Animal care plans and room support
• Low-cost spay and neutering
• Support to access emergency veterinary care
• Pet boarding through outside agencies for folks in crisis
• Accompaniments to and from vet visits
