NEST – Extreme Weather Shelter

The NEST – Extreme Weather Shelter is a safe, warm, and welcoming space for trans, gender diverse, and two-spirit community members during harsh weather conditions. It is not a permanent program — NEST operates seasonally, opening during months of extreme cold or extreme heat when the need for shelter is greatest. While active, it runs seven days a week, offering up to 20 beds and consistently supporting approximately six to eight clients each day.

Beyond overnight accommodation, NEST provides warm coffee, snacks, and breakfast, along with access to laundry facilities and showers — supports that go a long way in ensuring clients can meet their basic needs with dignity, comfort, and care.
