We are proud to share Atira Women’s Resource Society’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, Grounded in Community, Stronger Together.

This is an important moment for us. After more than 40 years of serving women, children and communities, this is the first strategic plan in Atira’s herstory.

For much of those four decades, Atira grew by responding to what was needed – adding housing, programs, services and partnerships as the needs of women and children, and the systems around them, changed.

Over the past several years, we have taken time to reflect intentionally on that growth: what we have built, what we have learned, what needs to be stronger and where we can have the greatest impact next.

We did not emerge from that reflection unchanged. We strengthened our foundations, invested in leadership and accountability, and became clearer about the organization we need to be for our next chapter.

Our new strategic plan carries that learning forward through four priorities: Community Care & Impact, Strong Foundations, Voice & Community Influence, and Caring for Our People –  with reconciliation and being good guests woven throughout.

Ultimately, though, this plan is about what we hope becomes possible: more women and children moving beyond crisis and survival, stronger systems working together, and safer, more connected communities.

Atira’s first 40-plus years were built in community. The next chapter will be too.
