Our Staff

Jessica Li (She/They)

I am the staff lawyer for Atira’s Legal Advocacy Program. I have long been passionate about addressing access to justice matters. This passion has motivated me to work and volunteer at non-profit organizations that help its clients navigate the justice system. I continuously think of ways to provide helpful information and practical solutions whenever possible. In my efforts, I aim to bridge gaps in the system and bring about meaningful differences on an individual and higher level. In my free time, I enjoy a myriad of hobbies, including but not limited to climbing, creative writing, music, and running.

Janelle Latta (She/They)

Hello, I am the legal assistant for Atira’s Legal Advocacy Program. Through my studies and volunteer work during University, I have developed a strong interest for addressing legal problems and supporting non-profit organizations that aid in issues that uniquely affect women and those dealing with mental health struggles. I am looking forward to empowering others in their work to help people navigate the legal system. When I’m not at work, I enjoy running, writing, and playing video games.

Imogen Xavier

Hi, I’m the Community Legal Advocate for Atira’s Early Resolution Program. I spent the decade prior to my work here as a climate, labor, and housing justice activist, and am honored to carry that work forward with the resources and access of a formal position. Before joining the community legal team I worked for Atira as a Womens’ Health & Safety Liaison. I have a deep investment in the recognition and redressment of systemic oppression, to the end of improving lives. I love to read, to cook, and to sit by the ocean to unwind.
