Waaban Outreach Support to First Nations, Metis and Inuit Women – Open House

Waaban is formerly known as the Aboriginal Women’s Outreach program.

Waaban as a name was suggested by the women who work in the Waaban outreach program. It means “sunrise” and was chosen as it can also relate to a new day, a new start or a new beginning. It is similar in meaning in both the Cree and Ojibwe languages.
