Volunteer Spotlight: Nina Ortiz

Nina currently volunteers with Enterprising Women Making Art in the Downtown Eastside!

“Hi! My name is Nina, a Peer Support Volunteer at EWMA. As an EWMA volunteer, I am able to witness other women go through their artistic processes and hear their stories. It’s a wonderful space where diversity is embraced, encouragement is an active process and support is an organizing tenet– all of which reflect me and my community’s values.

At EWMA, we support women by holding art workshops and assisting them in their projects. It has been so wonderful getting to witness wonderful art being created and being able to champion each other throughout the process.”
