Report: Feasibility Study on the Conversion of Parking Garages into Affordable Housing

Atira conducted a research study to assess the feasibility of converting the under-utilized, above ground parking at 107 East Cordova Street into affordable housing for women and children. The research concludes that redevelopment of this site is inevitable and responds to a serious housing need. The report was produced by Jimin Park as part of the UBC Sustainability Scholars Program (School of Community and Regional Planning) under the mentorship of Atira Women’s Resource Society’s Director, Operational Excellence. Atira would like to thank Jimin Park,  UBC-SCARP, and all the interviewees who participated in this project.
