Neha Review Panel Reports on the Right to Safe, Adequate and Affordable Housing for Women, Two Spirit, Trans, and Gender-Diverse People

On November 24, 2025, the Neha Review Panel released its final report and recommendations on the right to safe, adequate, and affordable housing for women, Two-Spirit, trans, and gender-diverse people—affirming that housing is not only a basic need but a fundamental human right.

The timing is powerful, aligning with National Right to Housing Day and the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, leading to International Human Rights Day.

This alignment reminds us that housing is violence prevention, housing is gender justice, and housing is human rights in action.

Atira is proud to have contributed to this work through our Pan-Canadian Voices for Women’s Housing (PCVWH) program, which hosted one of two in-person national oral dialogues supporting this review—elevating lived expertise, Indigenous leadership, and community-driven solutions.
