FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vancouver, B.C. — 2025-11-19 — Atira is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah McIntosh, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer, as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 22.2025.
Sarah is a mission-driven leader with more than a decade of experience at Atira. As COO, she has been a decisive and stabilizing force, guiding the organization through complex challenges, strengthening systems across all levels, and cultivating the strong, enduring partnerships that support Atira’s work in communities.
Her leadership and commitment to reconciliation and community equity have been widely recognized, including a 2024 YWCA Women of Distinction Award nomination. Sarah also contributes sector leadership through board roles focused on gender-based violence, homelessness, and community health.
“Sarah has demonstrated outstanding leadership, integrity, and vision,” said Anne Kinving, Atira’s Chair. “Her experience and values make her exceptionally well-suited to lead Atira into its next chapter.”
Atira looks forward to continuing its vital mission under Sarah’s guidance as CEO.
We also extend our deepest gratitude and warmest wishes to Donna-Lynn, who has accepted an opportunity to serve as the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of New Westminster, where she will continue contributing to strong, equitable, and supportive communities. We thank her for the tremendous support, commitment, and transformation she brought to Atira during her leadership. Her impact has been lasting and deeply appreciated, and we wish her every success in this next chapter.
