Goal

The overall goal of this module is for nurses and allied health care professionals to gain a deeper understanding of why women may use substances and how it can impact her health and health-care.

After completing this module, the student will be able to:

1. Understand and describe the dynamics of substance use from women's experience.
2. Describe the relationship between violence against women and substance use.
3. Understand why women may be reluctant to seek treatment or health care.
