Atira Women’s Resource Society is a member of a non-profit consortium that developed and will oversee the management of Storeys, a 129-unit, 14-storey affordable housing project located at 8111 Granville Avenue in Richmond. Along with Atira, the consortium consists of: Coast Mental Health, Pathways Clubhouse, S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Tikva Housing Society and Turning Point Housing Society.
ABOUT ATIRA’S UNITS
At present, there is no long-term housing available in Richmond, for women and their children only, who need a safe, affordable home to heal from their experiences of violence and abuse.
Atira will own and operate 18 of the 129 units, including 13 studio, three, one bedroom and two, three bedroom units. The units are located on the third and 12th floors.
Storey’s is anticipated to be long-term, independent housing for women and children. While it is centrally located with plenty of services nearby, there is not expected to be services on site. As such, Atira’s units at Storeys are not appropriate for women who still require some additional support over and above affordable housing.
WHEN WILL STOREYS BE READY FOR MOVE IN?
We are expecting move in date to be August 1st, 2017. We will provide updates on this website as we get closer to completion.
